Maricela Perez, MSN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC

We are so happy to welcome Maricela as a resource for our clients who need medication management. She is a psychiatric nurse practitioner with many years of experience in church and secular settings. Maricela now works independently and can evaluate and treat persons with mental health conditions. She works to see the whole person, body, mind and spirit, and can prescribe medications, and also recommend lifestyle changes. 

Although Maricela’s role as a psychiatric nurse practitioner is to manage medication, her focus is deep listening to her patients to understand their needs. She wants to know their story and from there works with them to come up with a medication treatment that can help their symptoms. She is excited to work collaboratively with Gateway’s clients and we are so pleased to have her as a resource. 

Maricela was born in Mexico and has lived in Aurora since age 7. She attended parochial schools in the area and has worked in faith-based settings. She is fluent in Spanish, which is so welcome in our therapeutic community. She has a strong Catholic faith and a heart for all people.
